Allegedly improper window warranty accounting at View Inc. has led the “smart glass” maker to face the prospect of SEC fines, liability to investors, less favorable terms for raising capital, and an impaired reputation, an investor says in a lawsuit against its executives and directors.
The derivative suit, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, echoes a proposed securities class action pending in the same court. It also follows the company’s June 2022 announcement of a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into the accounting issue.
