A producer who worked with Sean “Diddy” Combs accused the music mogul of sexually harassing him in a complaint that alleges Combs oversaw a wide-ranging scheme involving drugs, threats, and commercial sex.
Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones said he worked with Combs in 2022 and 2023 on Combs’ most recent album, “The Love Album: Off the Grid.” During this time, Jones alleges, Combs groped his genitals, walked around naked, forced him to solicit sex workers, forced him into sex acts with the workers, forced him to watch Combs shower, and forced drugs upon him.
Jones sued Combs in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday, seeking damages for physical injuries, emotional distress, and lost income.
The lawsuit marks the latest legal issue for the entertainer, whose vast business enterprise has been buffeted by recent sexual assault allegations and court battles.
“Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday,” Combs’ attorney Shawn Holley said. “His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines. We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies.”
Combs threatened Jones with violence at times, the complaint says, and at other times promised him property, cash, and access to music executives.
At one point in July 2023, Jones says, Combs took his car keys away to prevent Jones from leaving a party where Combs forced him to take ecstasy-laced liquor shots before he woke up next to a sex worker.
“Mr. Combs does not take no for an answer and would often threaten to inflict bodily harm,” the complaint says. “Mr. Jones was forced to watch as Mr. Combs displayed his guns and bragged about getting away with shooting people.”
Jones also alleges he wasn’t paid for his work on “The Love Album,” despite getting a producer credit on several songs.
The complaint also names several of Combs’ employees and associates as defendants, with Jones alleging they were involved in Combs’ unlawful acts.
In November, Combs and music artist Casandra “Cassie” Ventura resolved her sex trafficking and sexual harassment lawsuit one day after she filed it against him.
Jones is bringing claims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, premises liability, and violations of a federal sex trafficking statute and federal racketeering statute, among other causes of action. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages as well as lost income, attorneys’ fees and costs.
