Progressive Workers Must Revamp Wage Deal After Court Rejection

Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. and claims processors who say the company wrongly exempted them from overtime protections must fix up a release provision before a judge will approve their proposed settlement.

Workers reached a deal with the insurance company to end their wage-and-hour dispute in exchange for nearly $772,000. But their claims release provision includes “broad language” preventing the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida from approving the settlement.
