Plex Hit With Video-Privacy Lawsuit Over Info Sharing With Meta

Streaming service provider Plex Inc. shared the viewing histories of consumers with Facebook in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act and California privacy law, a proposed federal class action said.

Richard Lee alleged that Plex installed tracking “pixels"—snippets of code provided by Meta Platforms Inc. that allowed its Facebook unit to collect information about their video-viewing activities without their consent—on its watch.plex.tv website.
