A $25 million settlement between Koninklijke Philips NV, its affiliates, and patients who were allegedly exposed to toxins after using a recalled CPAP device was granted preliminary approval.
The deal follows a much larger $613 settlement that won final approval in April. The $25 million settlement, approved Thursday by Judge Joy Flowers Conti of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, will resolve claims from the “medical monitoring” class of device users who haven’t yet experienced physical symptoms.
