Philadelphia, Police Officer Settle Same-Sex Harassment Suit (1)

A sergeant in the Philadelphia Police Department settled his sexual harassment claims against the city and his supervising officer.

The parties on Monday notified Judge Mark A. Kearney of their settlement agreement, and Kearney dismissed the suit with prejudice, according to a filing with the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Sergeant Mark Casey’s complaint alleged that his supervisor, Captain Tyrell McCoy, created a hostile work environment and subjected him to quid pro quo harassment and retaliation.
