Papa John’s Founder Owes Nearly $48,000 in Fees, Court Says

The hourly rate and hours expended by attorneys representing the marketing firm in a discovery dispute in a lawsuit over Papa John’s founder John Schnatter’s departure weren’t reasonable, a federal magistrate judge said.

Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP of California and Kaplan Johnson Abate & Bird LLP of Kentucky will receive $47,518.25 compared to their request for roughly $102,000 in fees, Magistrate Judge Colin H. Lindsay, of the US District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, said.
