Papa John’s Founder to Face Court Sanctions Over Lost Texts (1)

The founder of Papa John’s International Inc. should pay some of the costs and fees associated with lost text messages in a lawsuit over his departure from the company, a federal judge in Kentucky ruled Monday.

John H. Schnatter left his position as CEO at Papa John’s in 2018, following a conference call in which he used a racial slur while quoting a third party. The contents of the call, which was with employees of Papa John’s marketing company 247 Group LLC, were later reported in Forbes.
