NY Judge Mulls Whether to Tweak Abortion Ballot Measure Text

Attorneys on both sides of a dispute over the wording of New York’s abortion rights ballot measure agreed—though for different reasons—that they prefer a state judge not rewrite the measure’s description himself to fix concerns about the readability of the text.

Proposition 1—also known as the Equal Rights Amendment—would prohibit discrimination based on gender identity, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive health.
