NJ ‘Sensitive Places’ Gun Ruling Scrapped by Third Circuit (1)

The Third Circuit has ordered a rehearing of a panel decision that largely upheld New Jersey’s ban on firearms in “sensitive places.”

The appeals court’s decision on Thursday to reconsider the constitutional challenges to the law vacates a ruling that preserved state restrictions on guns in locations from casinos and hospitals to public transit and entertainment venues. The one-paragraph order provided no reasoning, but said that “a majority of the judges” voted to rehear the case.
