New Jersey Republican lawmakers poured salt on a wound Thursday by filing articles of impeachment against Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin, citing the dismissal of charges against Democratic political boss George Norcross as a reason to remove the state’s top cop.
The articles build off of attacks from defense lawyers for Norcross and five other Camden area lawyers, businessmen and a politician who had a 112-page tax credit racketeering indictment against them tossed Wednesday. The GOP legislators and the lawyers accused Platkin of bringing a shoddy case to further his own political brand.
