Morgan & Morgan Keeps Legal Malpractice Case in Federal Court

A former Morgan & Morgan client couldn’t convince a federal judge to move his legal malpractice case, now in arbitration, back to state court.

Brandon Walker failed to show that more than two-thirds of the proposed class members are citizens of Georgia, where he filed the suit, said Judge Lisa Godbey Wood, of the US District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Walker, therefore, failed to invoke the “‘local controversy exception’” to the Class Action Fairness Act, she also said in denying his motion to remand the case.
