Injury Firm Morgan & Morgan Gets Client Suit Sent to Arbitration

Morgan & Morgan, Jacksonville PLLC can enforce the arbitration clause in its contract with a former client who accused one of the personal injury firm’s attorneys of professional negligence, a federal court ruled.

The arbitration clause in Morgan & Morgan’s client agreement, which requires arbitration of all disputes between the firm and its clients—with the exception of ethical grievances—doesn’t violate public policy and isn’t unconscionable, said Judge Lisa Godbey Wood in an opinion Wednesday for the US District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Godbey granted the firm’s motion to compel arbitration.
