Microsoft, Canadian Company Agree to End Software Patent Case

Microsoft Corp. and a Canadian software company agreed to dismiss infringement claims over Microsoft’s alleged use of patented software operating technology.

The two companies filed a joint motion to dismiss the complaint with prejudice on Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. VirtaMove Corp. sued Microsoft in May, claiming the tech giant’s Azure Kubernetes Service and similar products directly infringe claims in US Patent 7,774,762.
