Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration agreed to return $370 million in previously budgeted but unused monies back to the funds from which they came in order to end a lawsuit filed by the Republican-controlled state House of Representatives.
The deal should lead to the lawsuit’s dismissal once the monies are returned. While the deal was laid out in a court filing last week, Court of Claims Judge Michael F. Gadola on Tuesday tweaked a preliminary injunction to allow the monies’ return.
