Fidelity National Financial’s and LoanCare’s $5.9 million settlement following the alleged negligent failure to protect the personal information of around 1.3 million people received final approval from a federal judge.
Fidelity National, a title insurance provider, and its LoanCare subsidiary failed to properly secure the addresses, Social Security numbers, and loan numbers of class members, according to a consolidated complaint in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
