Legal Services Settles Ex-Worker’s Race, Disability Bias Lawsuit

Legal Services of New York City and a Black Latina former employee agreed to end claims that she faced discrimination and retaliation at the nonprofit due to her race, age, and disabilities.

Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed the case Thursday after the parties notified the US District Court for the Southern District of New York they reached a settlement in principle. Lorenzo alleged that Legal Services had a long-standing and pervasive racist culture fostered by leadership.
