Lawyers Seek $2.4 Million Fee for P&G Benzene-in-Deodorant Deal

Attorneys for consumers who sued Procter & Gamble Co. over benzene contamination in spray antiperspirants want $2.4 million for their work negotiating a settlement that offers millions of dollars and requires materials and product testing.

The nationwide settlement was preliminarily approved in October by the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

  • The deal allows cash payment of $3.50 per item or a voucher for a replacement item; with an $8 million cap for those without purchase substantiation, and no cap for those with receipts
