LasikMD Parent Reaches Settlement of Suit Over Meta Data Sharing

A consumer dropped his proposed class action alleging that VGC Group LP, a provider of laser vision-correction services, shared his personal information with Meta Platforms Inc. in violation of state and federal privacy laws.

Lead plaintiff Juan Ramirez and VGC Group filed a joint motion for dismissal Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, three months after Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo denied the company’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit. Ramirez indicated in a March 16 court filing that the parties had reached a settlement.
