LasikMD Patient Advances Class Lawsuit Over Web Tracking Pixel

LasikMD USA Inc. failed to convince a federal judge to toss out a proposed class action alleging it shared patients’ data with Meta Platforms Inc. in violation of state and federal privacy laws.

Lead plaintiff Juan Ramirez had standing to bring the suit in federal court and adequately stated claims under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the California Invasion of Privacy Act, Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo of the US District Court for the Southern District of California said Jan. 23.
