Kanye West and Donna Summer’s estate are close to settling a case over West’s alleged misuse of Summer’s hit song, “I Feel Love,” in Los Angeles federal court.
West stole parts of the song after her estate specifically denied a sampling request for his recent album “Vultures 1,” Brian Sudano, the executor of Summer’s estate, alleged in February.
The dispute is about more than licensing fees—Summer’s estate “wanted no association with West’s controversial history,” according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
