The US Naval Academy won’t be barred from considering race as a factor in its admissions process amid an advocacy group’s legal challenge, a federal judge said in an order docketed Friday.

Anti-affirmative action group Students for Fair Admissions, which got a favorable Supreme Court ruling against race-conscious admissions at universities in June, was unable to sway Judge Richard Bennett at a hearing on Thursday in US District Court for the District of Maryland.
