Joint Juice $12.9 Million Judgment Upheld; Attorneys’ Fees Extra

Joint Juice maker Premier Nutrition Corp. remains on the hook for a $12.9 million judgment following a trial in a consumer deception suit and must also pay the plaintiffs’ attorneys’ fees.

Mary Beth Montera, representing a class of New York consumers, alleged that Joint Juice’s glucosamine supplement didn’t deliver the promised health benefits. She sued under New York General Business Law Sections 349 and 350, which allow a court to award attorneys’ fees to a prevailing plaintiff.
