Joint Juice consumers were awarded nearly $12.9 million by a federal court in California following a class trial in a consumer deception suit over Premier Nutrition Corp’s glucosamine supplement.
Mary Beth Montera, representing New Yorker consumers, alleged that the supplement didn’t deliver the promised joint-health benefits.
A jury found the company liable in June under two New York consumer protection statutes—New York General Business Law Section 349, which provides that a consumer harmed by a violation is entitled to the greater of actual damages or $50; and Section 350, which allows the greater of actual damages or $500 per violation. ...
