J.M. Smucker Sheds Contaminated Peanut Butter 6th Circuit Appeal

J.M. Smucker Co. convinced a federal appeals court Wednesday to affirm the dismissal of a proposed class action alleging consumers overpaid for peanut butter after the company recalled certain Jif products due to salmonella contamination.

The US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said the lower court properly dismissed the lawsuit because the consumers didn’t include enough details about the products they specifically purchased.
