Home Depot Workers Win Nod for Revamped Wage Lawsuit Settlement

Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. and nearly 2,000 workers who say the company violated wage-and-hour laws won permission to move forward with a revised $750,000 deal.

Language in the revamped settlement addressed the judge’s concerns about the maximum potential liability, equitable distribution of funds, distribution of a special penalty payment, and proper notice to class members, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said Thursday.

The settlement amount pales in comparison to a $72.5 million deal other Home Depot workers in California landed in June. That settlement covers three worker classes, including one with approximately 150,000 members, according ...
