Home Depot Workers Reach $72.5 Million Deal to End Wage Lawsuit

Home Depot USA Inc. and California workers who say the company failed to pay them for all of their hours reached a $72.5 million settlement after more than seven years of litigation.

The home improvement chain’s workers will get more than they’re allegedly owed for their closing-shift and time-rounding claims, according to settlement documents filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. They recovered less for their walking-time claim, but that one was “legally nuanced” with a considerable risk of losing at trial, the workers said.
