Google, YouTube Get Video Editing Infringement Claims Tossed

Google LLC and YouTube LLC secured a judge’s order tossing a patent infringement lawsuit alleging their short-form video features make unauthorized use of a software company’s editing technology.

ART Research and Technology LLC’s claims are over abstract ideas that can’t be patented, US District Court for the Northern District of California Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín said in a Monday order, granting Google and YouTube’s motion to dismiss.
