Glad Faces Claims for Marketing Changes in ‘Recyclable’ Bag Suit

Clorox Co. and its Glad Products Co. unit can’t avoid a consumer’s claims seeking marketing changes in a suit alleging they sell “recycling” trash bags that aren’t recyclable themselves.

Named plaintiff Patrick Peterson established the possibility of future harm that’s needed for standing to seek injunctive relief, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. He adequately alleged that even though he now knows of the alleged deception, he won’t be able to rely on the truth of the label in the future, the court said.
