Girardi Son-in-Law Lira’s License Limited Before Bar Trial (1)

A California State Bar judge ordered indicted former Girardi Keese attorney David Lira be prohibited from any control over client trust accounts ahead of his state bar court trial for allegedly violating ethical and legal obligations for lawyers.

State Bar Court Judge Phong Wang declined bar prosecutors’ recommendations to place Lira on involuntary inactive status law before a hearing on the merits of his disciplinary case.

Lira, disbarred lawyer Tom Girardi’s son-in-law, is defending an indictment in Illinois alleging he, Girardi, and Christopher Kamon, the now-defunct firm’s former chief financial officer, stole millions of dollars in client settlement funds. ...
