Garmin Beats Patent Infringement Claims From Wisconsin Archery

Wisconsin Archery Products LLC can’t pursue patent infringement claims over Garmin International Inc.'s bow sight and crossbow scopes because of an earlier lawsuit brought by a licensee.

Garmin is entitled to summary judgment on Wisconsin Archery’s claims, which are precluded since they assert the same claims that were brought against Garmin in 2018, Judge Julie A. Robinson of the US District Court for the District of Kansas said in a Tuesday order.

Wisconsin Archery signed an exclusive licensing agreement that gave Burris Co. the rights to US Patent No. 8,316,551, which relates to auto-correcting bow sight technology. ...
