Federal Judge Rejects Cleveland’s Request to End Police Reform

A federal judge Friday refused to let the city of Cleveland out of its consent decree to reform its police force, writing that much work remains to be done to comply with the nearly 11-year-old agreement.

While the city has made a lot of progress since entering the consent decree in 2015, a lot of work remains, Senior Judge Solomon Oliver Jr. of the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said in a 74-page order.
