Fake ‘Shark Tank’-Endorsed Diet Pills Settlement Gets Initial OK

A federal judge gave her preliminary approval to a $200,000 settlement aimed at ending a racketeering class action over claims that ketogenic diet pill buyers were overcharged and tricked into thinking the products were featured on the “Shark Tank” television show.

Most of that amount, which will be paid by defendant The Fulfillment Lab Inc. and its owner, won’t go to the people allegedly cheated out of money. Instead, the settlement administrator, class representatives, and attorneys will receive the bulk of the deal, noted Judge Linda Lopez of the US District Court for the Southern District of California on Wednesday. ...
