Ex-EEOC Attorney Agrees to End Bias Suit Over Denied Promotions

A Black former attorney at the US Equal Opportunity Commission agreed to drop her suit alleging the agency discriminated and retaliated against her by denying her promotions within its diversity, equity, and inclusion office.

The parties’ counsel requested the court dismiss the case with prejudice in a Monday filing in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Katrina Grider alleged in her Feb. 10 complaint that agency officials engaged in a “concerted effort” to prevent her from being promoted to positions with the EEOC’s Office of Civil Rights, Diversity and Inclusion.
