EEOC Attorney Sues Over Denial of Promotions Within DEI Office

A US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission attorney accused the agency of discriminating and retaliating against her when it denied her promotions within its diversity, equity, and inclusion office.

Agency officials engaged in a “concerted effort” to prevent Katrina Grider from being promoted, she alleged in a complaint filed Feb. 8 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

The lawsuit against EEOC Acting Chair Andrea Lucas comes amid President Donald Trump’s executive order to end DEI efforts in federal agencies, including terminating diversity programs and employees in related offices.
