Federal appellate judges on Wednesday rejected a former DePaul University professor’s attempt to revive his claims of race discrimination, saying he didn’t adequately show that the school’s stated reasons for terminating him were pretextual.
Laith Saud, a religious studies scholar, alleged he lost his position at the school because he is Arab American. A district court judge granted summary judgment to the school, noting that Saud was facing an allegation of sexual misconduct by a student he admitted to having sex with.
