Arab DePaul Ex-Professor Argues White Colleague Treated Better

Federal appellate judges on Friday wrestled with the details of misconduct allegations against two DePaul University instructors—one White, one Arab American—in an effort to decide whether an ousted professor’s complaint of race discrimination should be revived.

Religious studies scholar Laith Saud in 2017 lost his position as term professor and was later notified he couldn’t return to teaching there in the future. A similarly situated White colleague was treated more favorably, he claimed in a suit against the school.

Those allegations should go before a jury, attorney Christina Abraham of Abraham Law & Consulting told judges for the US Court ...
