Ex-Bechtel Worker Drops Suit Alleging No Advance Layoff Notice

A former Bechtel Corp. worker ended his short-lived lawsuit alleging the company violated federal law when it terminated more than a thousand employees at a liquefied natural gas plant without notice.

Stephen Jones voluntarily dismissed his suit without prejudice on July 11, just nine days after he alleged in a proposed class action that Bechtel violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. Judge Anthony J. Trenga granted the dismissal that same day in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
