A Bechtel Corp. worker on Wednesday claimed the company violated federal law when it terminated more than a thousand employees at a liquified natural gas plant in Texas without notice.
Bechtel executed a mass layoff when it fired at least 33% of its full-time workforce at the Sabine Pass plant last month, but it didn’t provide employees any advance notice as required by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, Stephen Jones claimed in a proposed class action filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
