The Justice Department told the US Supreme Court on Monday that it should overturn the bribery convictions against a former Democratic Cincinnati councilman pardoned by President Donald Trump so they can be dismissed but not take up the legal issue the ex-politician continues to push.

US Solicitor General D. John Sauer said the justices should vacate a February decision by the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit to uphold P.G.
