Dallas College must face free-speech retaliation and state open-meetings law claims over changes to its policies doing away with three-year contracts for professors, a federal judge ruled.
The retaliation claims under the First and 14th Amendments can go forward because two of the professors behind the suit plausibly alleged their speech about misuse of public funds and official misconduct addressed matters of public concern, the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said. It reached a similar conclusion during a prior look at the case, the court said.
