Wizards of the Coast’s fight to keep control of its Dungeons & Dragons trademarks is on pause after fellow game maker TSR LLC declared bankruptcy.
TSR LLC, owned by Justin LaNasa, sued to use the TSR trademark to launch a tabletop roleplaying game called Star Frontiers. WotC acquired the TSR trademarks in 1997 when it bought TSR LLC’s namesake, TSR Inc., but stopped maintaining registration of the marks with the US Patent and Trademark Office in 2004.
