Class of Money Exchange Users Allowed to Amend Their Lawsuit

A federal judge clarified Tuesday that a proposed class of money transfer service users can amend some of their dismissed allegations of unlawful sharing of their financial data with law enforcement agencies.

Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. partially altered the September judgment favoring the money exchange services to reflect that some of their claims were dismissed without prejudice, according to his order. The plaintiffs can still adjust their claims that the money transfer defendants violated Unfair Competition Law and that DolEx Dollar Express Inc. and the US government violated the Right to Financial Privacy Act.
