A civil rights attorney notified a Washington federal court he’s appealing his loss to Ogletree Deakins in a lawsuit alleging it conspired to violate his medical privacy rights and provoked the Jan. 6, 2021, riot.
Plaintiff Amos Jones “hereby appeals” to the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Jones said Sunday in the filing. A lower court on March 30 dismissed Jones’ allegations under an 1871 civil rights law for failure to state a claim. The litigation stems from Ogletree’s representation of Campbell University in Jones’ job discrimination suit against the school.
