California bar takers say the promise of a refund for some applicants isn’t enough to fix the harm caused by the chaotic lead-up to the brand new exam, pleading with State Bar trustees in a Thursday meeting to “make it right.”
The exam’s rollout has been plagued by scheduling issues, conflicting messages from the State Bar and the test’s administrator, and trouble securing accommodations. The Bar in an email Feb. 13 said it was “extremely sorry” for the rollout and promised applicants who withdraw a full refund, less a processing fee.
