California Bar Expands Its Conflict of Interest Disclosure Rules

California State Bar Board of Trustees members must disclose all financial interests that could be affected by board decisions under a proposed changes to the conflict-of-interest code approved Friday.

The board, pushed by the California Supreme Court, unanimously adopted the proposed conflict of interest code for trustees that’s modeled on the state Fair Political Practices Commission disclosure. Board members would be required to indicate “all financial interests that may foreseeably be affected materially by any decision made or participated in by Trustees.”
