Boeing MAX Safety Shareholder Class Narrowed, Certified by Judge

Boeing Co. must face a class of investors certified Friday to sue over allegations that it defrauded shareholders about aircraft safety and the company’s safety procedures.

Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia greenlit the shareholder class, but trimmed the scope the plaintiffs proposed. Shareholders sued in January 2024, shortly after a 737 MAX 9 door panel blew out on an Alaska Airlines flight.
