Blue Cross Resolves Ex-Employee’s Vaccine Suit After Jury Award

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan resolved a lawsuit filed by a woman who said she was fired for refusing to get a Covid-19 vaccine due to her Catholic faith, it said Monday, months after a jury awarded her nearly $12.7 million.

The insurer and Lisa Domski said in a court filing that they agreed to dismiss all the latter’s claims with prejudice. The filing comes after a federal jury in Detroit said in November that Blue Cross unlawfully discriminated against Domski both by denying her vaccine exemption request and firing her.
