Android Privacy Vulnerability Lawsuits Consolidated in Court

Meta Platforms Inc. and Alphabet Inc. are now facing a consolidated lawsuit that combines at least 10 complaints over an Android operating system vulnerability that users say violated their privacy rights.

The vulnerability allowed Meta to connect Android web browsers and locally installed applications, deanonymizing users, the complaints filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California say.

The parties agree that consolidation will “promote judicial economy without producing any material inconvenience, delay, or added expense,” according to court documents.

The consolidated case is assigned to Judge Rita F. Lin.
