ACLU Sues to Stop OH House Bill Restricting Transgender Care (1)

Two families represented by the American Civil Liberties Union sued Tuesday to halt an Ohio bill restricting medical care for transgender minors, the group said, opening up a new front in the national legal battle over transgender rights.

The bill—HB 68—also prevents transgender girls from taking part in girls’ sports.

The civil rights group and law firm Goodwin Procter LLP represent two families of transgender minors who will stop receiving medical care, or lose access to planned medical care, if the bill takes effect, according to the complaint, filed in the Ohio Court of Common Pleas in Franklin County. ...
